From cozy pizza spots and dim sum-adjacent noodles to pancakes, pastries, and an Upper East Side coffee stop with serious people-watching, these are a few of our favorite NYC restaurants to visit with kids — plus exactly what to order.

Amazing Neapolitan pizzas, but this artichoke is incredible.

motorino

Located in the Chelsea Market. My favorite is the “mock duck,” which is a spicy vegan dish. But everything they make is amazing.

Their brunch is lovely, but I can never resist the Gramigna pasta

Sido

Very casual falafel spot. All their dips are super fresh and flavorful, and I love the fluffy warm pita bread. Don’t skip the hot sauce – it’s amazing.

sido

Perpetually busy, but if you want to trek a little further to Dumbo they are also at the Time Out Market Brooklyn. Can’t go wrong with their blueberry pancakes.

clintonstreetbakingco

This Columbia-adjacent cafe has been known for decades to be a haunt for writers. Their Napoleon is perfection.

Planning a picnic in the park? Bondi has solidly good and portable sushi. I like the lobster maki a lot.

The coffee is good, but the ambiance at the Upper East Side location is unmatched. Always a celebrity sighting. Bonus points if you can snag the table on the stoop. The hot chocolate for kids has a little bear face, so always a hit for my kids.

They have the best gnocchi I have ever had! And an incredible happy hour as well.

osteriaaccademia

The best pancakes in the city! Definitely order the sampler. The line is long, but the food moves quick!

bubbys

Their cream puffs are what dreams are made of. Like truly you don’t know a cream puff until you have tried these. I have yet to find one better.

barachou

The pizza, the salads, the sandwiches (only available at lunch)…everything I’ve had here has been incredible. Though the hot hunny is a must.

$2 oysters at happy hour, an amazing kids menu that doubles as a coloring book, and the Upper West Side location has a great patio when the weather is nice.

Last but not least, pay a visit to the OG food cart if you find yourself near Rockefeller Center.
